[KLUG Members] Install libiconv problem

Jamie McCarthy wrote of a simple installation of the library
I had difficulty installling.  His method used a cpan shell which
I have not yet implemented.  I did install the rpm perl-CPAN but
despite a few experiments was not able to get that shell.
I'll work on that.   That is certainly a neat way to satisfy
the missing components for my installation problem.
I'm guessing that it will be a waste of time for anyone
to work on the error message I sent later, although I would like
to know what was up.
