This site http://www.nu2.nu/ has LOTS and LOTS of GREAT FREE programs
to build all kinds of BOOT CDs.

I really like "Bart's SCSITOOL"

Some of the features are:
- Very extensive destructive (write/compare) test for harddisk,
removable and optical
- Full write/compare test for tape drive, uses the whole tape
- Cd-rom tower test, can read a lot of cd-rom drives simultaneously
(tested with 42)
- Can low level format any number of drives simultaneously (with
process indication)
- Can copy one source drive to more than one target drives
- A benchmark that will give you the real speed of the drive
- Hexedit at sector level
- Download microcode (upgrade firmware)
- Best feature of all, it is absolutely 100% free (no catches)
