[KLUG Members] StarOffice 6.0 at a BIG DISCOUNT?

As you may know, the newly released StarOffice 6.0 is now commercial
software.  You can buy it directly from Sun Microsystems as a download
for $75.  Or also purchase the boxed set from Amazon.com for $70+S&H.
StarOffice has versions for Linux, Windows and Solaris.

KLUG may have the opportunity become a reseller for StarOffice 6.0.  
We will get a substantial discount on the price, but the problem is we
have to purchase CD's from Sun in quantities of 50.  This is a LARGE
investment for KLUG.  We could loose our a$$ if they don't sell.

This email is to try and determine if there is enough interest among our
members to pursue this deal.  So here's the question:

How many copies of StarOffice would you buy if you were able to pick it
up at LESS THAN HALF of the list price???  Feel free to check with your
employer or other business to see if they would be interested in
multiple copies.  We also may ask for the money up front before we place
an order from Sun, so be prepared to put your money where your mouth is.

First come, first serve.  If you request copy #51, and we only get <100
orders, then you're out of luck!  (remember, only quantities of 50)

Please send your replies to this PRIVATELY, NOT TO THIS LIST.  We don't
need to bother everyone on this list with promises to buy StarOffice.

KLUG will still continue to sell OpenOffice on CDR for people who wish
to use a completely free office product.

I don't know all the details yet, but I believe all copies of StarOffice
sold by KLUG include tech support from Sun.

I'm not real clear on all the other differences between Star & Open
Office, but I _think_ that Star comes with a database, and Open does
not?  I'm not an office user, so please correct me if I'm wrong, and
feel free help me and explain the difference between the two products.
