I had decent experience with ameritech when I lived in Kalamazoo.  They're a bit
slow sometimes is all (took them a while to get the line installed and then they
didn't notify me).

Make sure you get a NON-USB modem (or, from the other angle, an ethernet
modem).  If they don't give you a  choice and you do wind up with a USB modem
you can probably find a used one for sale on eBay or something.  I don't
remember the exact model that I had but I think it was a Westell.  hehe

Ameritech also has no port filtering and they don't seem to care if you run
servers.  They want to sell you a static IP but you don't need that...
