Well, perhaps somewhat overstated. I was working on a
number of things, including some discussion with Ralph.
Also, I recovering from one of the largest meals of my
life, and installed RH8 on another machine here, not that
those two events (eating too much and a Linux install)
are related.

The details of that install are rather more on-topic, as
are the minor changes needed to really make it run well.
This is the only GNOME box at Chez Brown at this time;
I've been a devotee of KDE and other, much more light-
weight window managers, like XFCE, QVWM, and OpenLook,
but with all the GNOME-ists around here, I thought I
would give it a whirl. Mostly this machine will be a
user-level workstation, no development will take place
directly on it (although I reserve the right to log in
to other machines and hack away! :). All the GNOME and
some of the KDE components are installed, but no server
software. It will be interesting to see how comfortable
it is to use this machine.

Thanks, I got a lot of sleep as it is. IMO There's no need
to prolong this thread, other than discussion of what a
Gnovice GNOME-ist may think of the gnew sytem.
