I have been looking at RedHat 8 some more. The interface is deffinately
nice to look at. I am using KDE for most of the testing. =0D
=0D
The menus are not as nicely laid out as I would like to see. Some things
are very good and very obvious like OpenOffice. Other programs like Abiw=
ord
and KOffice are buried fairly deep and difficult to locate. Some of the
program s are not listed by the name of the program but by the function o=
f
the program. This makes it hard to find programs that I am familiar with
and am looking for. =0D
=0D
There are some nice programs for administrating the system like the user =
and
group administration program. This graphical program works very nice for
adding and editing users and groups. The interface is very clean and
efficient.  =0D
=0D
There is also a really nice graphical program for some configuration
adjustments for apache. It even includes adjustments for virtual hosting=
=2E=20
I want to play with this some to see how well it works!=0D
=0D
All of the configuration utilities are similar between Gnome and KDE. Th=
ey
tried really hard to get the menus to be as close to the same between the
two as well so that moving between them would be easy. It gives the Gnom=
e
screen a more of a KDE feel but hey KDE rules anyway right? (flamewar bai=
t)=0D
=0D
The more I use it the more I am thinking of doing an upgrade on my curren=
t system. Gotta get a good backup first though. Hmmm how daring am I go=
ing to be.......
