Bad idea from a quality point of view ... going mp3 -> wav you'll still have all the artifacts that the mp3 encoding produces, then going wav -> ogg will introduce the ogg artifacts on top of that.  It's still going to be bearable quality I'd imagine, but not as good as it can be.  Personally, any new CDs I buy I just rip right into .ogg format.  I gave it a try about a year ago with some classical CDs and was amazed at how much better it sounded byte per byte against mp3.
