Subject: [IPCop-Announce] IPCop 1.3.0 release
Date: 22 Apr 2003 09:28:00 +0200

IPCop Linux is a complete Linux distribution whose sole purpose is to
protect the networks on which it is installed. It is extremely easy for
anyone with a modicum of knowledge to install and configure. Frequently,
the IPCop firewall can be installed within 10 to 15 minutes. More advanced
configuration may take as long as a half-hour. Obviously YMMV.

Today, IPCop 1.3.0 is released. It is available for download from the
IPCop website.

Changes:
Linux 2.4 kernel and iptables support
	New supported hardware includes:
		ECI ADSL supported modems
		Alcatel Speedtouch 330 modem
	Updated software includes:
		Speedtouch 1.2beta
		Snort 2.0.0
		Super FreeS/Wan 1.99 kb2c
	Improved portforwarding interface:
		Support for port ranges
		Support for PPTP (GRE)
	New supported languages include:
		Danish
		Dutch
		Greek
		Norwegian
		Spanish
		Swedish
Languages selectable from the web interface
	Improved log reporting
	Improved open connections display
	Improved dial-on-demand traffic selection
	Improved traffic graphing (using MRTG)
Rate limiting to prevent DoS attacks

As of this writing, the next release, 1.3.1, is already in development.
This release will be an update to IPCop 1.3.0 and will contain support for
traffic shaping and AVM Fritz!DSL. The IPCop team is
grateful for your continued support and feedback on this firewall. We will
try to make IPCop even easier to use in the future for an increasing number
of advanced tasks.
