Well, no success yet, but in general, you have the right idea,
and it's sorta what I'm trying to elicit from the list as a whole.

Right, this is a silly approach, and IMO needless

The point of this question is to use the many and diverse installed
distos already in the hands of KLUG memebers as a whole and see how
each of us identifies dostros. I could make this a kind of "bench
project", since I've got lots of distros, but it seems far more effic-
ient (and maybe fun) to throw this out and see what kinds of things
we reel in.. sof ar, the fishing has been of interest, but let's 
keep it up!

Any more answers are most welcome!
