It is free.  You can pay - $99 a year for access to subscription only
FTP servers.  The free service can be slow, etc... much like any popular
FTP service.  The pay service is rocket ship fast and has never been
unavailable in +2 years I've been sending them money.

Most things Open Source are neat, especially these days.  Well,
everything except perl.  Perl is just ugly,  but it makes up for it by
bieng able to do anything.
