Thanks for the article,  every scrap of information on this sea-change
is welcome.   

By only beef is that he is still chewing on the
Novell-trashes-everything-they-buy bone.  They've long since replaced
their CEO and much of their board - since they're days of the "weekly
strategy".  This could go badly, but I doubt it will do so because of
those reasons.

The whole wordperfect issue comes up alot in Slashdot threads, etc...
But as I recall it, from the announcements, Novell wanted Groupwise but
had to buy the whole package.

What was really dumb was that Corell bought Word Perfect and Quattro Pro
from Novell AND licensed Groupwise as a package deal.  So they could
have created (theoretically) an M$-Exchange competitor for Linux then,
but let it just lie there; instead focussing on a really lousy port of
WP.  Remember this was back when Linux was pushing into the server
market and hadn't yet reached the desktops of anyone but programmers and
admins.
