[KLUG Members] The 2004 Schedule Is Now Available

The KLUG 2004 schedule is now available for "booking". If you have a
topic you would like to present or just a topic you would like to see,
e-mail programdirector@kalamazoolinux.org. 

Remember, any topic relating to the use of Open Source in almost any
capacity is welcome. Your suggestions play a key role in topics that get
covered at KLUG meeting - so don't hesitate to send them in. Have a
issue that has been frustrating you? A category of applications you
can't find? Want to expand your knowledge in some area? We can only help
if you let us know.

KLUG hopes to run three special series in 2004 is speakers can be found.
Even if you can't present on one of these topics - if you know someone
who might be interesting let us know any we will contact them.

DEEP TECH - (3/9, 4/13, 5/11) - This series will cover the nuts-n-bolts
of how-it-really-works. Suggested topics: sorting algorithms, database
optimizers and join techniques, hardware detection, etc...

TCO - (3/30, 4/27, 5/25) - This series will not be focused so much on
technology, but the "Why Open Source?" question. Is Linux really a
better choice for businesses than that alternative OS? If so, Why? We
intend to promote this series to the local business community.

MY DESK - (6/29, 7/27, 8/31, 9/27) - This series will focus on Open
Source desktop applications such as GIMP, Open Office, Evolution, etc...
We'd really like to see specific topics explored in some depth to help
people migrating to a Linux desktop be even more productive than on
their Windows desktop. Suggested topics: Cleaning up images with GIMP,
Macros or Large Documents in Open office, Managing your schedule in
Evolution, Instant Messaging applications, etc...

Remember that there are lots of dates not included in any series or
restricted to any specific topic - so no matter what your interest there
are a variety of dates available. 

Lets make 2004 our best year yet. To do that KLUG needs your support;
people of all levels of proficiency and fields of expertise.
