I like KLUG's mailing list because of it's very high signal to noise ratio.
Welcome messages IMO are noise because they can just as easily be sent
off-list and achieve the same result without requiring everyone on the list
to see a message intended for just one person. However, some people like
them as it promotes a sense of community, so my opinion is worth what you
paid for it.

FEEDBACK:
I went to one meeting and though I got a lot out of it (it was about strace
and lsof) the drive wasn't worth it for me. That's not a hit on KLUG, more a
result of my preference for not-driving.

There are lots of interesting topics at KLUG meetings.

As I am unlikely to attend, I won't request something to be presented...

Perhaps the lack of opinions is because the overall opinion is that you're all
doing a fine job, which honestly it hadn't occured to me to express that.
See below.

To KLUG's officers, volunteers and Joe Average members: Thank you for
running, contributing and participating in KLUG. Just by lurking I read
about topics that make me recognize and appreciate the technical virtues of
Linux. The expertise and depth of knowledge on this list quite simply rocks.
Thank you. KLUG rules.
