2003-08-19 - GNOME, The Ximian Desktop, & The Future  

Everyone knows of the GNOME project, but where does it come from and
where is it going? Chris will talk about the history of the project, the
Gnome 2.x series, and future plans for the GNOME desktop.  

Born in Ann Arbor, MI, Chris Lahey started working with the GNOME
project in 1997. He has worked at Ximian, Inc. in Boston, MA since early
2000. There he helped develop the evolution groupware suite and now
works on the Ximian Desktop team, packaging and developing GNOME based
desktop software.
