A good idea.  But the focus of ACT/GM (as I understand it) is to
track/log/audit communication with these people.  Primarily so that no
contacts go cold, requests are not losts and generally to make sure
sales people do their job and follow up on leads/inquiries.

At least that is what it is used for here.
