The ~/evolution directory has everything in it assuming you are using a
POP account somewhere to get your mail. If your running your won IMAP
server than the files in (either or any) of /var/spool/mail,
/var/spool/imap, /var/lib/imap are important too.

If you don't reformat /home your data should be fine and evolution 1.4
will automatically upgrade all the files.

~/.galeon/bookmarks.xbel Almost any program that manages links these
days supports import of xbel files.

Don't reformat /home and you should be fine on all above accounts.
