I am trying to Linux (Fedora kernal 2.4.22-1.2129) to utilize the laptop
functions and I am having some difficulties.

in the Fedora release notes it states:

The Fedora Core 1 kernel includes support for ACPI (Advanced
Configuration and Power Interface). By default, ACPI support is
disabled; it can be enabled by using the following boot-time option:

acpi=on

So I added the line "acpi=on" to my grub.conf file. Is that the correct
way to add this boot-time option?

I also added the battery charge monitor to my panel and it just states
N/A.  any Ideas?

Also I tried install a cool program for Toshiba laptops
http://fnfx.sourceforge.net/index.php?section=news

But had no success but I will dig into that more when I know I have acpi
enabled and work proberly.

Thank you <><
