I have currently switched my three primary desktops (work, home, laptop)
to SuSE 9.0, and I have no plans on going back to Fedora/Redhat. I also
plan on migrating my servers at work to SuSE.

This probably means the end of BSware as we know it, and brings up the
more important problem of "Silver members" and loss of their benefits.

As far as creating a distro based on SuSE: First, I haven't tried it,
and I don't know what's involved. Second, I'm not sure it's necessary.
SuSE does some things differently, and they have the concept of a
"update CD" (which I've already created and used one successfully).
You install, and then update to the latest from the update CD.

This problem is: while a update CD may be a great addition to sell with
a stock SuSE distro, but there is NO added benefits for a silver
member. The update CD is simply a mirror of the updates on a FTP site.
Silver members can just as easily download the same stuff from a FTP
site for free, so there no gain for them by paying us to download the
same updates.

So, what do do about current silver members? I recommend that we
discontinue the silver member program immediately, convert current
silver members to bronze and double their time remaining as a benefit
for the extra money they paid.

Another option would be to convert the silver membership to something
that allows internet access from the Chamber during meetings.

Any comments or other ideas???
