A guy on ebay has Redhat Enterprise Linux ES 3 binaries for $35, he says:
"This copy is not a violation of the respective license it just does not
come with RedHat support or entitlements such as Automatic Updates, perfect
for Students or those wanting to get their feet we with RedHat's new
flagship product"

If this is the case, could I get a copy from somebody that has ES or AS so
I can play with it at home?

Yes, it exists. It's not free for download, you have to buy it.
