I have been able to get most of those programs to run under Wine in one form
or another.. It has been a while since I have tried it (my daughter has no
interest in the computer) so I don't know about the newest batch of
educational software. Also you may want to check into WineX by TransGaming
Technologies.. I have been able to get games like Ghost Recon and Magic the
Gathering Online to run under linux so I'm sure it will work for those
programs as well. It does cost 15 dollars for a 3 month subscription.. but
if you want to play games under linux that are not native to it.. that is
probably the best solution.

Anybody know of an Open Source project for producing educational kids
games on the Linux platform? (ala Jump Start, First Step, etc.)

How about closed source for purchase versions of these?

Chris.
