Doesn't seem all that funny, they have alot of really good stuff in
there. The Linux / GNOME people have there work cut out for them.
Note, however, that nothing is "stunning" in this list - most of it
already has Open Source "equivalents".

Windows Future Storage (WinFS) ~= GNOME-VFS & both XFSs and Reiserfs
ability to support database like queries into filesystem meta-data, and
for said filesystems to actively notify applications when said data
changes. This is SO VERY COOL! I wouldn't dismiss this at all, this
WILL change the way people use computers (since often an
application/system is really just an interface to the filesystem
anyway).

New Graphics Engine & User Interface - whatever. Don't we get a WOW new
graphics technology every third Thursday? And most people are STILL
running cards with no 3D acceleration what-so-ever. Who cares.

Integrated DVD Burning - Ok

WinFX & Indigo is .Net finally replacing Win32. Despite all the noise
this is a GOOD THING. Mono/CORBA/Bonobo are equivalents to this. Do a
little coding in C#. Very nice.

Security and NGSCB. There are such a great gob of things under this
umbrella it is impossible to even discuss as a "unit".
