[KLUG Members] NFS across platforms...and not!

So after this weekend+ of fooling around with NFS  and sharing data all over 
the home/office network, you'de think I have enough, right? 

Well, sorta...

Now that I've got it working here, I want to get it working on OS-X, between
OS-X machines, and between OS-X and Linux hosts.

We had a presentation on OS-X recently, and I asked if this was possible, and
got a rather unequivocal answer of "yes" in response. Reading the Apple OS-X
literature, you'de think this is the most trivial thing in the world, but 
aparently it is not.

I've tried many (not all, but many, it's getting there!) of the things that
were suggested on OS-X, and have not had much success, but have collected a 
nice crop of interesting error messages, many of which are actually rather 
misleading.

If someone on this mailing list has actual experience with OS-X and NFS, and
running NFS exports between Os-X and Linux, I would like to hear from you.
