Jon,

It all depends on what you want to do with each computer.

SSH is a good place to start for cross-platform command line access, but how
many people know how to drive a Winboz box from the command line? If you are
at all interested in remote control, VNC is a great cross-platform tool.

Although I don't do anything with Mac's anymore, VNCThing
http://www.webthing.net/vncthing/ is a Mac VNC client for OS 9 and X. The
screen shot shows a Mac with a remote Win95 desktop in the middle of it. You
can do the same thing from the Mac box to a Linux box running a VNC server.
In fact, you can have both remote desktops on your screen at the same time.

I use VNC through SSH tunnels to remote control Linux and Windbloz desktops
and servers all over my LAN.

I believe we have several people here on the list doing similar things.
