FYI, "/unix:-1" IS xfs (your font server - or the port it listens on).

xfs has a config file listing multiple font paths.  Some paths are very
important in general, others are only needed for certain programs.

If the corrupt font path is not needed by X or your window manager,
removing the path from xfs's config would most likely allow xfs to
start, hence allowing you to sign on to X-windows.  Some programs may
have problems, but others may not.
