Thanks for all the advice, Adam. It will help tremendously as I build this
thing.

As for your final question, the answer is: quite possibly. With the budget
doom for public schools in the State of Michigan, and directives coming
from the BIG bosses to find ways to cut expenses, suddenly Linux is very
attractive in certain scenarios. I am testing (again) the latest version
of the K-12 distro in my test environment (basically RH8 with LTSP bundled
into it), and I am pretty sure I'm going to get the green light to deploy
it to a school lab. We've got curriculum that mandates M$ Office, but for
research, word processing, etc., I've argued for a long time that Linux
would work fine. It won't work for every lab and classroom, but it
certainly will in many cases. I *think* this looks like progress, but the
next few weeks will be more telling.
