That's great, very helpful.

Am I poking around in the right area when I fiddle with ~/.xinitrc in trying 
to make the kiosked mozilla window be the only client to the X server?  It 
works painlessly when I run "startx" but when I login with GDM, it appears 
that something else is running a window manager... and I'm too noob to fugger 
it out quickly.
