Bruce, et al.,

I have never tried multisync, but in light of Bruce's problems with
multisync, I would suggest trying Unison,
http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/. It is stable and includes Linux,
Solaris and Windbloz versions that work at socket level or remote shell if
you want. This allows directory synchronizations such as Linux to Linux,
Winbloz to Linux, Linux to Winbloz, Winbloz to Linux, Winbloz to Winbloz,
etc. There are lots of options like using the rsync algorithm over ssh, and
the interface must be pretty easy to use since I am using it. Other options
include ways of including and excluding files and paths, etc., etc.

I am only using it to mirror a Winbloz directory to a Samba share, so it is
really overkill for what I am doing. But, I am on the Unison mailing list
and read about people doing all kinds of slick things with it.

Not that I have time to try it, but I suspect one could combine Unison and
some of the heartbeat components to create a real time online network fail
over system.
