Yeah, they do just that. I called them several times about the domain in question, and all they could tell me was that the current registrant needed to call to get info. hen I pointed out that, after 6+ months of expiration, there really WAS no registrant, I was told that it was a Net Sol domain, and they would decide when to release it. Bastards....

Legit companies like Gandi say they are leasing you the right to use the name. Once it expires, it is removed, rather than held by Gandi.
