I looked at the program code on my system (where the program runs fine),
and it looks like you may be missing a file on your hard drive.

Check and see if the following file exists:  /usr/share/comps/.discinfo

If it exists, take a look at it's contents (it's a text file).  
If it doesn't exist, create it.  Otherwise compare it to my file.  
I'm attaching my file to this email.  (it's really small)

Ownership & permissions are as follows:

-rw-r--r--    1 root     root           79 Sep 10 16:34 .discinfo

That'd be my guess.
