Hi,
RH 8 Gui problem seems to have been fixed. I disabled the screensaver and
it's pretty stable.
Only downside: I can't lock my desk when I leave my workplace.

Any ideas on why screen saver is doin this. It also seems to kill gnome
terminal. message when I do ctrl-alt-f1:
xscreensaver : activating and locking (right before gnome terminal is
killed)

Thx,
Sanjay

Good.

Kernel parameters, used primarily for tuning performance and scalability.

Thats current. Bummer.

Does this happen on more than one box?

These are both inocuous.

FAM is the file modification daemon, it probably just isn't running.

The second probably means you don't have that extension installed or your
video card doesn't support it.
