I'll give that a whirl, but it might be more painful that the current 
situation (I couldn't, btw, create alpha binaries on my linux boxen using 
distcc, which is odd.. They are supposed to. It would always complain 
about the cpu type and stuff)

I dunno. I like solaris since I had to use it in college, and it has most
of the apps I need for my day to day crap.  I kinda fell in love with the
way they ran, and especially the sun keyboards..  They rock.
