[KLUG Members] Grub: Error 28 ( Unable to boot from hard drive, can boot from floppy)

Hi,
I have RH 8 at home. Installed on new machine Asus A7N26-VM mboard ( Nforce
motherboard)
Hard drive : 40gb ( Samsung)

windows on first partition (close to 10 gb). /boot - next (196 MB)
swap -517 MB. rest for root partition.

I am able to boot from floppy. From hard disk, I get error in grub: error
28: selected item can not fit into memory.

what could be the problem?

P.S: ( If this email is in html, please excuse me.I am sending via web
client as I am at home. The Lotus notes version that we have right now does
not allow us to set preferences in the web client and I am stuck with it
till they upgrade. If I was at office, I could use Lotus Notes directly.
