[KLUG Members] Informix ODBC Gehenna

I am trying to get my ODBC connection to my informix database to work
(again). It was working only days ago, and now not.

There are no LAN changes that have been made.

I will not be able to get truthful answers concerning what another admin
has done with system so it is up to me to get this working again; today;
then tomorrow; then the next day. (But that is another story) I am not
complaining, as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

I emphasize that this WAS working so that hardware can be ruled out as a
cause.

We are running SCO unix,
Uname -a reports
SCO_SV cityhall 3.2 5.0.6 i386

Informix is version: 7.20.UE5

I have previously installed Informix's SETNET32

Here are screen captures for them.

I run the ILOGIN program that comes with setnet 32 and this is what the
screen looks like.

And this is the error message I get:
http://www.geocities.com/pikitfense/ilogin2.jpg

(in case you don't know. The setnet32 programs will setup an ODBC
connection and test it. The Setnet32 is _LIKE_ the ODBC setup in the
control panel. The ilogin program allows you to check to see if the
connection is working.)

The full docs on this error message are here.

Here is the connection that I made in the ODBC folder of the control
panel. (Windows 2000).

When I test it I get the error
"Test connection was NOT successful.[Informix][Informix ODBC
Driver][Informix]Cannot connect to database server (gtyserver1_tcp)

www.geocities.com/pikitfense/ODBCerr.jpg

On the unix box my /etc/services files has at the end
gtyserver1_tcp	1526/tcp

My /i/Informix/etc/onconfig.gtyserver1 files has the line
DBSERVERALIASES gtyserver1_tcp

Help me Obiwan Kanobi?
