I'm not sure what your question is.  If you mean can you temorarily add a 
user, then yes.  POSIX Shadow enables an account to have an expiration 
date - man shadow and edit /etc/shadow

If your using LDAP then an application like Directory Administrator will 
let you just select an account and add an expiration date,  which is 
stored in the shadowExpire attribute as the number of days from Epoch (Jan 
1, 19700
