All, 

We are delighted to announce the creation of a new incubator project at
OpenOffice.org. The Scripting project aims to provide a repository for
the assorted useful scripts & macros that have been posted to the
OpenOffice.org mailing lists. It also provides a forum for the
discussion & development of scripts and scripting within the suite.

The launch of the Scripting project comes at a very exciting time for
scripting in OpenOffice.org, with the development of a Language
Independent scripting framework. This promises to open up scripting in
OpenOffice.org to more people than ever before.

So come & join the project! If you've written a script that you think
might be of use to the community post it to our mailing list. If you've
got a repetitive task that could be automated with a macro, let us know,
and perhaps we can help you (or help you help yourself).

The Language Independent Scripting Framework is:

The incubator project is a testing ground where the community can try
out new ideas related to OpenOffice.org. If they prove popular
they may be upgraded to full  project status. Prior graduates of the
incubator include the Marketing, Documentation, and Lingucomponent projects.
