Thanks everyone for the welcoming...
I plan to attend a meeting as soon as my car arrives, should be in 2 weeks or so.
The AKLUG went through so many changes, it's hard to say how it was. For a while, they
did alot of formal stuff (presentations and IT-Expos, ect.). As of late, they are trying to
become a non-profit org. Mostly we just met on friday nights and messed around. I think
most of our time was spent fighting about which distro was better...
I did take notice to BSware. I will have to get that, I read on the site the distro it's
based off couldn't be mentioned, but I'm guessing slack?
I'll shoot my first question at you guys, unsolved by the AKLUG.

I have a linksys WPC11 v3 pcmcia card. When I installed slack9 on my laptop, it worked
right away. It loaded the orinoco modules, and grabbed an ip. I don't like the orinoco
drivers much, so I installed wlan-ng. Worked great. Soon after, I used the card on a WinXP
laptop, it worked fine. But when I put it back in my laptop (slack9), it couldn't read the
cards firmware. Now, nither the wlan-ng or the orinoco drivers work, both complain
about the cards firmware...I stongly believe xp put it's own firmware on it...

Any ideas?
