[root@estate2 packages]# rpm -e RealPlayer
[root@estate2 packages]# rpm -Uvh RealPlayer8-8.0.3.412-6.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
   1:RealPlayer8 ########################################### [100%]

Works like a charm.

Poking about it seems like the version I had was incompatible with the rh8 ptl
patch/hack. It hangs in a strace at the same point as the Informix SDK 2.80-UC1
does, which I know is caused by the ptl business. Hmmm, it seems like maybe
they should have held off on that a bit. But being the most common distro, I
suppose it is one way to get everyone (even IBM) to update their code in a hurry
- just sucks to be the end user.
