The tricky part with a webcam is not the software, but getting the
camera driver to work in the first place. I had one running for a while
where the only "webcam software" was a cron-launched shell script, but
that only works as long as the driver does. Since upgrading to BSWare 8
I haven't been able to get v4l to talk to my camera. It's a USB 3Com
Homeconnect, using the vicam driver. Of course, I've also been unable
to build a new kernel that works properly with my LVM mirror, which I
suppose is the real problem.
