[KLUG Members] how can I get around a port block to setup vpn?

One other thing to think about is the type of VPN connection you are
attempting. They might be blocking PPTP because it is a primarily MS
protocol and not as secure as say IPSec connections. It could be that
you are just not using the type of VPN they allow. Talk to the admins. I
can't believe that a workplace would not allow any VPN connections
through a corperate firewall.
