In the past [older cards that is] ATI cards were very well supported, but
that seems to have changed. A friend of mine has a radieon x000 [forget
wich] AGP, but it was a painful install process rebuilding X and kernel
and drivers and ... I don't know about the Matrox, but if you can get them
cheap enough you can just pretend that the other head dosn't exist [I feel
sad not having a second monitor anymore].
