> >Yeah, it does kinda lead you to a few mistakes: but what was everyone
> >ELSE's excuse?! ;-)
> Hey, over at Table A We didn't *NEED* any Steekin' excuses!

Then quit making excuses!!! All you've done is whine!

I was too slow, Peter was too fast, ... boo hoo!!!
I really knew the answers, but Peter beat me ... boo hoo!!!

What was your excuse for not knowing the "-c" gcc option?
There was a LONG pause that anyone could have buzzed in
while I was deciding in my mind if it was "-o" or "-c".
That question was almost called for time before I finally buzzed!

> We had explanations. They were bad enough, as things turned out.

Sure, call your excuses "explanations" or anything you like,
they are still EXCUSES! WAAAAAA

> >> Peter rocks!!!
> >Hey, Bill knew so much SQL, and Jon knew Niobe and Sandra Bullock (not
> >Julia Roberts). Those helped a lot.
> Well, I know a lot of SQL, but I was slow on the trigger,

Excuses excuses excuses ..

> and Dirk knew many of those answers. I recall this, we conferred,
> and consolidated our great knowledge.

Excuses excuses excuses ..

> In the meantime, others were pressing buttons and getting points. Being
> right and late doesn't count.

Excuses excuses excuses ..

> Niobe? I never heard of that.. but Hollett was on his buzzer before me for
> stuff like "delete".

Excuses excuses excuses ..

> There's no excuse for that.

Then quit already!

> I'm going to have more coffee next time....maybe take Bill out for a
> few drinks, first...no thanks, I'll pass....

Yeah, next year... just like those loser Yankees. :-)

> And C++.. the last time I saw a ;; was when Bush was President... the FIRST
> one....and Andrew Thompson was faster them I on the buzzer there...

Excuses excuses excuses ..

> I remeber KNOWING that the question was "Who is Sandra Bullock?" At that
> moment I was shocked that anyone had asked a Geek Cinema question that did
> not involve one of the Matrix or LOTR films. I was so happy I knew the right
> question that pus --- well, Jon said it.
>
> That darn button again.

Excuses excuses excuses ..

> Or maybe onrushing senility.

The best excuse you've had yet! :-)

> >> If someone else wants to help make questions it is fine with me. But
> >> then thats one less person who can participate. If your interested in
> >> bieng the program directors lackey, just e-mail
> >> programdirector@kalamazoolinux.org :) Always willing to glance at your
> >> resume.
> >That is a problem. But I also have some ideas about catagories and
> >scoring I'd like to suggest and help with next year.
> Agreed, opening it up, distributing it a bit would be interesting.
>
> And just wait 'til next year!

Yeah, you and your Yankees.

BTW, I'm making no excuses for our team. (second, beating Bob's team :)
We were beat fair and square. Peter knew more of answers than we did.
Peter's team deserved to win. Great job Peter!

Of course when it comes right down to it, I don't think any of us should
be bragging too much, since we ALL ended up negative in points. :-)
