I don't think your obligated to take this off list.  Much of what runs
on an SGI box is Open Source, and IRIX is very similair to Linux from an
administrative aspect (I've used one a couple of times remotely).

Are you running IRIX on the system or some port of Linux?

Well, thats normal.  The box doesn't say "IBM" on it.
