> RPM? Are you speaking of reiserfsprogs, or the kernel code?

The kernel code.

The unofficial Redhat RPMs have a name named: "kernel-2.6.*.iX86.rpm",
and a corresponding file: "kernel-unsupported-2.6.*.iX86.rpm".

  See: http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/2.5/RPMS.kernel/

For some reason, the reiserfs module is in the RPM named "unsupported".
I have no idea why Redhat considers it to be unsupported. Maybe they
just haven't tested it yet, or maybe they found a problem ... donno.

If I installed the "unsupported" RPM, my reiserfs partition would
probably mount. However, I wasn't brave enough to take the chance it
may have a problem. (my reiserfs partition is only backed up once, as
opposed to my root partition which is backed up two different places :)

Also, I was worried that _possibly_ ReiserFS was upgraded to a newer
version in the 2.6 kernel and it would "upgrade" my partition, making it
unmountable back in 2.4. (I have no idea, but didn't want to chance
that either)
