This is NOT news.  Redhat made that announcement months ago when they
introduced Fedora.  Redhat discontinued support for 7.x and 8.x (and
older) at the beginning of this year.

Since the deadline is approaching for Redhat 9, I'm simply posting this
as a reminder for people who haven't upgraded yet.

There are _pay_ services (and one free one that I'm not impressed with)
from third parties that will provide updates for Redhat 7/8/9 for awhile
(until the demand dies anyway).
