I have a WinTV-GO card that is nice and Hauppauge uses the brooktree
chipset that is pretty standard all around.  If I were doing a PVR I
would use like the 250.  My use of the card was a little different.  

I think though if I were to do the PVR thing I may do a ReplayTV.  It
looks really nice from what I have seen on techtv on the
screensavers.  It even has an ethernet port built into it.  and the
pricetag makes it better than getting all the computer equipment. 
You can download any stored videos to your computer for later editing
and dvd burning.  The cheapest one is like $150 and will hold I think
it is 40 hours of video.... They have always used Windows to download
and burn the video but I think they mentioned using Linux too.  I
want to see if it works with Mac too (see my other post on video
editing on the pc to understand this better).
