1) I have not been following this entire LPI thread but....

In general, the only way for a good technology to WIN and kick some serious
butt is to have dedicated highly trained people supporting it. M$ wins through
marketing $$$, FUD, etc... we all know that. It grows through the "everyone
else is doing (smok'n) it so we will to" factor.

Linux can be "compliated" to deal with, it comes from a bazillion different
development teams all over the world, it is a different business model than
status quo closed source companies. To make Linux a success, it must be slam
dunk implemented over and over again, get the word of mouth positive of its
use, etc... and the only way to slam dunk implement it is to know it inside out
forwards and backwards, PERIOD! That takes dedication, PERIOD!

At this point I may or may not (may not) drive myself that hard on Linux. I
have a lot on my plate. Definnately I will have team members at that level with
Linux for our firm to be a success. We already have one LPI on the team. We
(LDS) can either share in those learnings, or we can do it in our office and
keep it to ourselves. Liking to share when we can, I offer up my presentation /
brain dump on Samba PDC. That was the result of two week of 8:00 to 23:00 days
of intense Samba research. Participating with and having KLUG LPI training be
of value to my team means it needs to be serious productive efficient intense
accurate SLAM DUNK. I don't expect it to be those hours (as my Samba research)
but it needs to be high octain. Honestly not everything that comes forth from
KLUG is high octain, thus I am sure like most I review meeting topics to pick
which weeks I attend.

Enough for one email, that's my $0.05 on the LPI, etc... topic. No spel check
at this time of night either.
