I have been running three interface Linux Router Project (LRP)/ Linux
Embedded Appliance Firewall (LEAF) floppy based firewalls for about four
years, http://leaf.sourceforge.net/. It’s not quite drag and drop, but it is
very easy to configure a Netfilter based firewall using Shorewall
http://www.shorewall.net/ on a Bering floppy based distro
http://leaf.sourceforge.net/mod.php?mod=userpage&menu=904&page_id=21. It
uses a 2.4 kernel and there are howto's on load balancing, etc. There are
other specialized distros's tied into this umbrella project.

If you need more router horse power you might look at FREESCO,
http://www.freesco.org/, a Sourceforge Open Source implementation of Cisco.
I haven’t tried it, but I check the web site every once in a while to see
how the project is coming. To keep the router on a single floppy all kernels
are compiled using a patched 2.0.39 linux kernel source:

FREESCO (stands for FREE ciSCO) is a free replacement for commercial routers
supporting up to 10 ethernet/arcnet/token_ring/arlan network cards and up to
10 modems.
Why should you use FREESCO?
·	Ease of use - it's insanely easy to set up
·	Thoroughly documented - it's more or less self contained, read one doc and
you're off and running
·	Like most players in this field, it runs off one floppy
·	FREESCO runs in as little as 8 Mb RAM.
·	Unique Web Control Panel
FREESCO is the easiest to use, one disk Linux system available. For more,
read the full overview.

Bob
