The holiday season is upon us, and the end of the year is
approaching quickly. Soon after, on January 11th, we will
be holding elections for the positions of Chair, Vice-Chair,
Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and Member-At-Large.

At the same time, we look for those who wish to occupy any
of the other significant volunteer positions, so that the
new officers can make appointments from a field of willing
and interested candidates and assistants.

Only KLG members may nominate or vote for candidates. To be
considered a KLG member requires attendance of at least three
meetings within the last twelve months.

Please go to http://www.kalamazoolinux.org/organize, which
provides additional information about the available positions
and the election process.

To nominate someone (including yourself), you may use a nomi-
nation form (linked from the above page) to submit your choice,
which will then be verified by the Nominations Committee, and
approved by each nominee prior to any public announcement.

We will also ask nominees to submit a short statement about
what they would like to see during their term, and how they
will guide the group if elected. These will be posted for any-
one to see as soon as they are available.

Please take the time to read about these positions, consider
who may benefit the group, and how YOU can serve as well. The
road to improving our group starts now, and with you. Good luck
to all, and may the best members win!
