SuSE 9.2 fixed a lot of graphical problems on my laptop, but no
guarantees since I've never owned a Compact.

BTW, if you buy the SuSE 9.2 box set, you'll get a DVD with a version
compiled specifically for the AMD-64, which should run faster on your
laptop, if not better.
