[KLUG Members] question about locking down a linux system for TS client

We have some old HP terminals & older PCs we use to log into a Windows
Terminal server. We are looking at upgrading the terminal server to
win2k3 server and I want to see about replacing these terminals with
some older machines that I would like to load linux on. The hope is that
I could get the floppy on these machines to map to the 2k3 Terminal
Server like the windows machines do now.

Does anyone have any info on:
1) can you map a drive from a linux system to the TS like you can from a
windows client?

2) Does anyone have a decent article or list of things to check to make
sure the linux machines are locked down as much as possible so that
students could only sit down and log into the Terminal Server with a
shortcut...script that would probably run rdesktop or something in full
screen mode etc...

Thanks
